-Transparent Gauge Glass:

-Reflex Gauge Glass:
This type features ridges on one side. The liquid level is visible due to the light refraction and reflection properties, making it easier to distinguish the liquid and vapor spaces. It’s particularly useful for observing water levels in steam boilers.
-Tubular Gauge Glass:
These are straight tubes used in low-pressure and non-critical processes. They provide a direct view and are typically used for tanks at atmospheric pressure.
-Bi-Color Gauge Glass:
These gauges use colored filters and light to enhance the visibility of the fluid level. They are commonly used in high-pressure steam boiler applications. The color seen through the glass indicates whether the space is occupied by water or steam.
-Magnetic Gauge Glass:
A magnetic level gauge has a float with a magnet inside the tank. As the fluid level changes, the float moves accordingly. Outside the tank, a series of indicators containing magnets flip as the float passes, showing the level of the liquid inside the tank. This type is often used for hazardous or high-pressure applications because there is no direct sight path.
-Weld Pad Gauge Glass:
These are mounted directly onto a vessel using welding and are usually made of a metal frame and glass plates. They are designed for high-pressure applications and do not require a separate chamber.
-Disc Gauge Glass or Round Sight Glass:
Sometimes used on tanks or vessels, circular sight glasses are typically mounted on an existing circular flange and provide a window into the process.
-Armored Gauge Glass:
These gauges have a robust metal frame that protects the glass from high pressure, impact, and harsh conditions. They are suitable for both transparent and reflex glass and are often used in industrial processes where safety and durability are crucial.
Each type of gauge glass has its own set of advantages and limitations. The choice of gauge glass depends on factors such as the pressure and temperature of the system, the type of fluid being measured, the required level of accuracy, and safety considerations.
